Turning the Page: A New Chapter from Graphic Designer to Product Designer

Looking back at over 5 years in design and more than 3 years in UI/UX, I realize that not only my skills but also my thinking and perspective have changed a lot.
It all started with my passion for design, which began at the MCC Media Club at UEB-VNU. After graduating, instead of following my planned path in Finance and Banking, I decided to try my hand at being a Graphic Designer. At first, creating beautiful and creative products satisfied my personal creativity, but gradually, I realized I wanted more. I wanted my designs to not just be about images but to create real value for users.
This led me to UI/UX, where design is not only about beauty but also about listening, understanding, and solving real user needs. However, this journey has not been easy. There were times when I felt overwhelmed by my ambition to create perfect experiences for everyone, but I learned that it’s impossible to have a solution that meets all needs. This taught me to accept imperfection and be more open to new challenges.
Another important lesson I learned is that opportunities do not always appear clearly. Sometimes, we have to create opportunities ourselves by being proactive. I started sharing my knowledge about UI/UX and Figma on TikTok, and I was lucky to attract 16k followers. New opportunities unexpectedly opened up from these simple shares, and I realized that as long as I stay proactive and persistent, all efforts will be rewarded.
Looking back at my journey so far, I am proud of what I have learned and experienced. There are still many challenges ahead, but I will keep trying and persevering to write new chapters in my life.
